KIN is open to contributions from all Northwestern students regardless of background.
We recognize fashion as a personal concept that affects everyone and believe that everyone deserves a chance to express their ideas of style through creative mediums.
We welcome personal narratives and works centered around our quarterly theme, and we will work with you to make sure that your voice is heard. We’re family, after all.
For our inaugural quarter, our theme is:
Maybe your grandmother gave you a jade bangle for your eighteenth birthday, or your mom did your hair every single morning when you were a kid. This quarter, we’re looking for narratives centered around how family affects the way we interpret personal style today.
KIN reviews submissions of editorial (articles, personal narratives, poems, fiction, etc.) and visual (photos, drawings, designs, etc.) content related to both fashion and our quarterly theme on a rolling basis. You will hear back from us as soon as possible regarding whether or not your work has been selected for publication.
Upon selection, a member of KIN’s staff will reach out to you to work on refining your work for publication, and will follow through with you personally to ensure that your voice is heard.
